Amazon Rainforest & River:

  • Location:  Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname & Venezuela 
  • Description:  The Amazon Rainforest encompasses 1.7 billion acres, located within nine nations in South America.  It represents over half of the planet’s remaining rainforests and comprises the largest and most species-rich tract of tropical rainforest in the world. The Amazon River is the largest river in the world by volume, with a total flow greater than the top ten rivers worldwide combined. 

Komodo Island:

  • Location:  Indonesia
  • Description:  Komodo Island is primarily known as the habitat of the Komodo dragon, the largest lizard on Earth.  The island is 242 square miles with a population of about two thousand.  Komodo is part of the Lesser Sunda chain of islands and forms part of the Komodo National Park.  It is also a popular destination for diving.

Halong Bay:

  • Location:  Quáng Ninh Province, Vietnam
  • DescriptionHa Long Bay features thousands of limestone karsts and isles in various sizes and shapes.  Several of the islands are hollow, with enormous caves and an abundance of lakes.  Many of the islands support floating villages of fishermen, who ply the shallow waters for 200 species of fish and 450 different kinds of mollusks.

Jeju Island:

  • Location:  South Korea
  • Description:  Jejudo is a volcanic island, 80 miles from the southern coast of Korea.  The largest island and smallest province in Korea, the island has a surface area of 1,147 square miles.  A central feature of Jeju is Hallasan, the tallest mountain in South Korea and a dormant volcano, which rises 6,398 feet above sea level.

Iguazu Falls:

  • Location:  Border of Argentina & Brazil
  • Description:   One of the world’s largest waterfalls, it extends nearly 2 miles in a semi-circular shape.  Of the 275 falls that collectively make up Iguassu Falls, “Devil’s Throat” is the tallest at 262 feet.  Iguazu Falls is surrounded by two National Parks that are subtropical rainforests host to hundreds of rare and endangered species of flora and fauna.

Puerto Princesa Underground River:

  • Location:  Philippines
  • Description:   This 5-mile navigable underground river, considered to be the world's longest, winds through a cave before flowing directly into the South China Sea.  It has major formations of stalactites, stalagmites, and several large chambers.  At the mouth of the cave, a clear lagoon is framed by ancient trees growing right to the water’s edge.  

Table Mountain:

  • Location:  South Africa
  • DescriptionA South African icon and the most recognized site in Cape Town with its unique flat-topped peaks that reach 3,563 feet above sea.  It's withstood six million years of erosion and is home to over 1,470 floral species and numerous rare and endangered species.
