The key is to get your tickets and book your travel and accommodations as far ahead as possible. You'll have to be prepared to pay a lot of money for tickets and travel, but there are some ways you can try to cut costs.
Some ticket strategies: Tickets can be hard to get, so here are some options: (1) Enter local contests and sweepstakes; (2) Buy season tickets for your local team (they usually will let you buy championship tickets for face value); and (3) Check the actual venue during the series (sometimes they have extra tickets available)
Airfare -- Use Expedia or Kayak to check all possible flights.
Hotels & Accommodations -- Look at all options including budget hotels, bed and breakfasts, vacation home rentals, and family / friends. One good option is Airbnb.
Transportation -- Since traffic and parking will be a nightmare see if you can carpool, take public transportation, or even walk if you're lucky enough to be close by.
